Ronald J. Nathan, CLU, ChFC founded the Nathan Agency in 1969. In the agency’s first years, life insurance was our primary product. Since the early 1970s Ron Nathan has continually expanded the agency's product line. He also has earned advanced degrees in both life insurance (Chartered Life Underwriter) and financial planning (Chartered Financial Consultant).

An active industry leader, Ron has twice served as president of the Pioneer Valley Association of Life Underwriters and has chaired many insurance company committees. Ron is a 36-time qualifier and Life Member of The Million Dollar Round Table, which recognizes the life insurance industry's most outstanding producers.

In 1989 he was honored as the #1 Agent at Allianz Life Insurance Company and has lead Columbus Life Insurance Company in New Lives produced seven times since 1999. He is also a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, the Financial Planning Association and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Ron has also been awarded the Life Insurance Agent Association's (NAIFA) two most important awards on a continuing bases. He has received the National Quality Award honoring outstanding service to clients for 40 consecutive years. Ron's also earned The National Sales Achievement Award, honoring sales results for 38 consecutive years.

In 1979, Ron purchased the Amherst Insurance & Real Estate Agencies and formed The Nathan Agencies. The product line was expanded to include property and casualty insurance as well as real estate. Amherst Insurance Agency became the property and casualty outlet, while the Nathan Agency became Amherst Financial Services Agency, the outlet for life insurance, health insurance, and financial services products.

Ron specializes in financial and estate planning, helping clients to create systematic programs of investing and protection for their families and/or businesses. He has a large and varied client base and enjoys developing startup investment plans with young families as much as he does working with clients and businesses that have already established a high net worth.

Ron is a graduate of Babson College with a BS in Business Administration. He devotes much of his time to professional and civic organizations, and has served as Executive Director of the UMass Basketball Court Club since 1988.
