Financial and Investment Planning

How Financial & Investment Planning Can Help You

Financial planning is a process of learning how to best manage money and how to plan for its ability to help provide security, growth, independence, and luxury. A financial plan, developed with the help of a qualified financial planner, may allow you to set your own priorities according to your values, commitments, and goals. Obtaining professional advice in this area can help you realize your goals and avoid costly errors.

At The Nathan Agencies financial services division (Amherst Financial Services), an experienced financial advisor helps you sort out your financial situation. Generally, this involves gathering and evaluating information about your assets, debts, income, and personal goals and responsibilities.

In addition, you may face specific life stages that require focused attention, such as college funding, change in marital status, death, disability, retirement, or an estate settlement. Whatever your situation, our financial planning specialists can help.

Once your financial picture is clearly understood, our advisors work with you to identify appropriate investment vehicles for your financial objectives, including:

  • Retirement Plans: 401(k), IRA’s (Traditional, Roth & Simple)
  • Investments & Wealth Management: Mutual Funds, ETF’s, Individual Stock & Bonds, and Managed Portfolios
  • Financial Planning & Retirement Income Planning
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • Annuities: Fixed, Variable, Immediate & Indexed
  • Long Term Care Insurance
  • Health & Dental Insurance (Group and Individual)
  • College Funding Strategies

How Financial Planners Are Compensated

At The Nathan Agencies (Amherst Financial Services), our planners have several compensation options to enable you to choose how you wish to employ us. Our first consultation is always free. This allows you and your planner to meet and discuss your goals and concerns to see if you feel comfortable working together.

Additional planning is arranged in one of three ways, depending on your preference:

No Fees: Our advisors are compensated by insurance and investment companies whose products are implemented. If no products are purchased, there is no fee.

Fee-Based: A fee schedule is established based upon an hourly rate, or a pre-determined single charge for a complete plan.

Asset Management Fees: Based upon a percentage of assets invested in your investment portfolio.

Please note: The compensation plan you choose will have a lot to do with the investments or investment advice needed, as well as the ongoing advanced planning and investment reporting services required.
